This is a small selection from a book I published in the mid 1970's. It came together after spending 4 years getting to know and photographing this fascinating nomadic Irish subculture then known as Irish Tinkers (today referred to as Travellers).
At that time most were living on the road either in hand built bow shaped caravans or in tents. The book documents their lives in photographs and their own words.
