Around 500,000 joined the TUC Anti-cuts "March for the Alternative on 26 March 2011. The majority showed their anger at the government spending cuts by peacefully marching through Central London to Hyde Park rally.
However several smaller feeder groups including Anarchists, "UK Un Cut", and the "TUC Armed Wing" broke away from the main group and vented their anger by taking direct action against banks,shops and companies who are not paying taxes to the UK. Windows were smashed, paint splashed and smoke bombs and flares were flying. By the end of the day there were 200 arrests and many injuries.
